We know that Alerts is the most important function of Bijk.com’s monitoring service. In the past, we gave priority to graphs and performance stats. At present, our priority is the best Alert system with 100% alert accuracy.

Why a new price list?

Four months ago we started with the first version of our price list where we chose to split the main functions into three plans, starting from $9.95 up to $49.95.

Now, several months later, we have more data about our clients and users—we know what is important to our users, what our main competitive advantages are, and what our users like on Bijk.com.

After very deep data analysis, discussion and user testing, we have created a new price list. One of the big changes are SMS alerts in every plan. We have also added a new fourth plan called Partner, which is specially for Hosters and Providers.

What does the new price list look like?

Who is the new Partner plan for?

We have clients from two main segments: end users with several virtual or dedicated servers, and hosters and providers of servers—medium and large companies, who need competitive advantages for their clients with servers.

The Partner program is an ideal product for Dedicated & Managed companies who need to provide cool graphs, easily managed alerts and a lot of current data about servers on their own domain, with a white-label design (without the Bijk.com brand) and possibly with some changes in the interface.

Bijk.com have created a simple API for maintenance of all mayor functions of Bijk from your current Control Panels or from your CRM system. We have created PHP and PERL connectors.

Implementation of Bijk.com graphs, alerts and all functions to your hoster Control Panel is very simple and does not require further investments of hardware or software. You can start using Bijk today, fully free.

Over the coming days we will be rolling out our new Alerts system.

Some new key features:

• SMS & email Alerts about ping/web downtime.

• Graphs in every mail/SMS Alert – SMS Alert on iPhone/Android/Windows mobile phones

• Ping Alerts – Every server can now be monitored with ping, so if your server stops responding, you will be informed within a few minutes.

• More recipients for each Alert – You can now add as many recipients as you want for each email/SMS Alert.

Settings URL monitoring – Insert web address and multiple contacts for Alerts – Email or mobile phone for SMS.

• URL monitoring – You can set URL monitoring for each of your servers and perform monitoring every minute, if your web server is running. Bijk.com server monitoring will send you email or SMS Alerts if your site goes down.

• URL Time load – You can add several web sites for each server and see detail graphs showing information about the loading times of the pages, directly from your server. This information is useful when you are tracking down problems with the speed of your sites – the graphs clearly show times for sending pages from your server without any network delay etc. A ʻHow Toʼ manual is available on our wiki.

Incidentally, we have reworked the GUI for setting and editing Alerts. Now, when you go to the Alerts setup page, you will see several of the most popular Alerts. In the top-right corner you can switch to Advanced Alerts, where you can set up monitoring for almost everything you could want to monitor.

We have also implemented a new system of authorising mobile and email addresses. Now, if you add a new contact (or contact for your admin etc.), you will receive a hash within a minute, for contact authorisation.

In the last few months we have changed and added many things. Here are the most important:

• Bijk successfully running on servers with non-public IP or behind firewall
• Faster and better web interface
• SMS and email alerts for about 60 different monitored services
• One page for comparing all graphs from more servers
• Many more new features in backend and web interface
• Our aim is to produce the best tool for monitoring Linux servers, which is a joy to use for everyone

New prices

From Monday 16 August 2010 we have new prices which reflect the needs of all our users.

After very deep internal discussions we decided not to require payment for each server, but instead we offer three different plans that cover the needs of the vast majority of users.

Because we really appreciate all of the (approximately 1000) people who actively use Bijk, we offer them the opportunity to upgrade to our current plan for $9/month; this is equal to the Complete plan in the new price list for $49.95/month.

All existing users can take advantage of this offer before our new price list comes into effect on 16 August 2010.

We will also always offer a free plan for users who don’t need more servers.

What news can you expect in the coming weeks?

• More and more graphs for a better overview of your server (for example, DNS, firewall, MongoDB, Ruby, customer graphs)
• iPhone / iPad client for monitoring your servers anywhere, including push notifications
• New alerts for URL and ping monitoring (really soon)
• And of course better and better user experience in our web interface.
• On our to-do list we currently have hundreds of new ideas and suggestions – we never rest and are always trying make Bijk better.

After registration into server monitoring Bijk.com just add your API KEY and get information about your servers, IP, OS etc in the Cloud.

On each server install simple bijk-node client operating download of statistical data to servers.

In few minutes you get information about performance on your Cloud servers, from various Cloud providers.

Currently we work on new graphs’ implementation supporting MemCached, NginX, Lighttpd and more deamons.
